My research focuses on uveal melanoma, a rare intraocular cancer, to understand its genetic underpinnings. I analyze a nationwide Finnish cohort using whole-exome sequencing to determine the prevalence of inherited BAP1 variants and identify other germline genetic risk factors. This work aims to enhance our understanding of the disease's etiology, ultimately guiding genetic counseling and clinical surveillance.
