Title of Docent in Genetic Epidemiology
I am an adjunct professor (genetic epidemiology) and the group leader of the FinnDiane Study that aims to identify clinical, environmental, and genetic risk factors for diabetic complications. I have a basic degree on bioinformatics and defended my doctoral thesis on genetics of diabetic kidney disease in 2014 at the Aalto University, Finland. My current research focus is on genetic, epigenetic, proteomic, and multi-omics risk factors for diabetic kidney disease and other diabetic complications.
