My research focuses on coloboma, a congenital eye malformation caused by defective optic fissure closure during embryonic development. The aim is to investigate the genetic background of coloboma in patients treated at Helsinki University Hospital, to report the contribution of known genes, and to identify novel genes associated with the condition.
