Master of Science in Cell Biology.

Doctoral researcher in the research group of Metabolic Bone Diseases, led by Professor Outi Mäkitie.

My research focuses on the functional characterization of sphingomyelin synthase 2 (SGMS2), a gene responsible for a rare skeletal disorder called calvarial doughnut lesions with bone fragility (CDL). My goal is to deepen our understanding of skeletal biology and to develop valuable model systems (cell-based and zebrafish) that reveal the molecular mechanisms behind CDL.
